Is Going Green Worth It?

Image
Climate change is one of the biggest threats to the environment, therefore to our world. A crucial issue like climate change is very difficult to solve. So, is going green actually worth it? Some people believe that an individual wouldn’t be able to alter the drastic changes in the environment. In my opinion, if every living individual had the same beliefs, the human impact on the environment would hinder. “The ‘problem’ of climate change is a very complex one — it comes from a lot of different sources, and most importantly, from our everyday bad habits. We know where we’re headed if we don’t do anything, so I’m charging full on into it, and I encourage everybody on this planet to do the same so that we can hope for a better world.” (Rafael, 2017). To overcome the rise of global warming and the long term effects of manmade climate change, every individual has to take a step forward and go green. Humans have the greatest impact on climate change and global warming; this shows that

Are Local Fishing Grounds Healthy?

Determining whether the local fishing grounds is healthy or not is based on the marine ecosystem. Marine ecosystems are seawater based and they are one of the largest ecosystems on the earth, having over 1 million discovered species living in them. Marine ecosystems are essential for human beings because it is the main source of fish, which is an important high-protein dietary food for humans and that is needed for their health and well-being; especially in Alexandria because it is right by the coast so fish is an instrumental value. Moreover, fish provide omega-3 fatty acids which is used for medicine and also has the lowest amount of fats compared to all the other animal proteins. Sustainability & Biodiversity

Unsustainable development and biodiversity are two major concepts that are vastly important to the environment and all humans should be aware of these two concepts and how to ensure a better environment using sustainability. To begin with, unsustainability or unsustainable development has a crucial effect on planet Earth that is caused by human carelessness. Moreover, biodiversity, which is the variety of life or species in the environment, is dependent on whether humans choose to live with a sustainable development or unsustainable development. If people choose to live with unsustainable development, biodiversity would decrease; because pollution and people’s waste ruin biodiversity by killing species.       We were assigned a small lab to do, which I think was very helpful for us, it made us understand the idea of carrying capacity and how it could help biodiversity. Carrying capacity is the quantity of species that can live in a certain area without environmental degradation. I

Environmental Impact

We, humans, have the biggest impact on Earth since we do a lot of different activities that harm the environment and we use numerous natural resources. It is our choice whether to help ourselves become environment friendly or not; and it isn’t just all talk because it is not words that prove change but our actions do.  Ecological footprint is a way to measure the impact of human activities in area. It is important that you know about ecological footprint because it helps you realize the activities you do that affects planet Earth. Here are some examples of how objects we use or activities that we do affect the environment: The amount of gas we use for transportation, the amount of processed food that we eat, the amount of electricity we use and how efficient it is, and the amount of garbage we have or the amount recycling that we do.   But which type of people have the most negative impact on the environment? I believe that the wealthier the country is or the wealthier the family is t
